North Star Electric Cooperative (North Star) has developed this Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) in collaboration with PSE Engineers and Consultants to proactively address the growing threat of wildfires across our four-county service territory. The WMP provides a framework for identifying wildfire risks, reducing ignition potential, protecting public safety, and strengthening system resilience in an era of increasing fire danger.

The purpose of this plan is to:

1. Enhance the safety of North Star’s members, employees, and communities.
2. Protect critical electric infrastructure that supports homes, farms, schools, and businesses in North Star’s service territory.
3. Reduce the potential for electrical equipment to ignite wildfires.
4. Support long-term system resilience and reliability in alignment with North Star’s ongoing planning efforts.
