Are you a student wanting to earn $1000 for an hour’s work?
You could – if you study for North Star Electric Cooperative’s Scholarship test and come out with the best score. Even if your score is not the best, you still have the chance to earn a random drawing cash prize just for getting at least half of the questions right.
Each spring, North Star awards over $5,000 in scholarships, plus random drawing cash prizes to students from Warroad, Lake of the Woods, Indus, International Falls, and Littlefork/Big Falls.
A quiz is given in students’ own schools, generally in mid-April every year. It tests their knowledge of North Star Electric Cooperative. Study materials are provided and contain almost every answer.
To earn a $1000 scholarship, the student must have the best score. The next four best scores earn each of those students a $500 scholarship. Students scoring 60% or better on the test will be entered into a drawing for eight $50 cash prizes. In addition to these scholarships, North Star is also a proud sponsor of local chapters of Dollars for Scholars.
North Star’s future is in the hands of our young people!
