New Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulations designed to protect consumers have caused North Star Electric to change the way we take payments.  To help protect your financial information, all calls made to our office to make a payment over the phone will now be directed to the Secure Pay payment line to use an automated voice response system.  The new Secure Pay phone number is 1-855-938-3492, and may be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

North Star welcomes Brittany Hanson, our newly hired Administrative Assistant/Billing Clerk.  She began working at our Baudette office in late February, and we are happy to have her here!  Please join us in giving her a warm welcome!

Power is nearly restored into the International Falls substation.  It should be back online right around noon today.  If you are still without power at 12:15, please call our office at 888-668-8243 or 218-634-2603, so we can determine if there are any individual outages.  Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

The Minnkota outage is affecting members in an area from a few miles west of Pelland Junction to Rainy Lake and south to a few miles beyond Ericsburg.  The crews have located the problem with a broken insulator near the Rat Root Road and estimate that power should be restored in a few hours, hopefully by noon.  North Star Electric Cooperative thanks you for your patience and understanding!

OUTAGE UPDATE

The problem has been narrowed down to somewhere around International Falls, but the cause is still unknown.  Members in the Kabetogama area should have power now.  Members around International Falls do not. Stay tuned for updates.
