Power is nearly restored into the International Falls substation. It should be back online right around noon today. If you are still without power at 12:15, please call our office at 888-668-8243 or 218-634-2603, so we can determine if there are any individual outages. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
Power Restoration Estimate
The Minnkota outage is affecting members in an area from a few miles west of Pelland Junction to Rainy Lake and south to a few miles beyond Ericsburg. The crews have located the problem with a broken insulator near the Rat Root Road and estimate that power should be restored in a few hours, hopefully by noon. North Star Electric Cooperative thanks you for your patience and understanding!

Off-Peak Reminder
Getting the half-price off-peak rate is the reward for agreeing to not use electric heat during load control periods—it’s basically passing on the wholesale power demand savings to the members who are making the lower wholesale bill possible. Plugging in electric space heaters wipes out wholesale power demand savings, so please don’t do this during critical peaks, generally from 5:00 – 9:00 pm on very cold days. Call us to help you find the right solution for your situation.
Having an adequate, non-electric back up heating system is critical to ensuring your home is comfortable ALL winter long.
