North Star Electric Cooperative offers the latest technology to help manage your electric account 24/7. If you have a connection to the internet, you can view your billing account information at any time of any day via our SmartHub® web or free mobile device app (available from both iTunes and Google Play).
Registering is easy!
Just go to the “Pay My Bill” button, and enter a few fields of information. You will need your 10 digit account, but everything else you will know off the top of your head.
Find out your current balance due, study your past usage patterns, review your past payments, print a copy of your billing detail, get information for your tax return, pay your bill with a credit card*, and more!
As a SmartHub user, you will also receive complimentary notices when your bill has been calculated, which will be days before you receive it in the mail. You will have the option to continue to receive paper copies of your bills, OR, to make SmartHub a money saver for the co-op, you may choose to stop the expense and paper waste and receive only the electronic notices. You can always print your billing detail from SmartHub if you want a paper copy. If you change your mind, just a few clicks of the mouse will put you back on the list to receive mailed paper copies.
SmartHub is especially helpful for our many snowbirds and members who are not receiving their bills locally every month. Even our members who receive their bill through the Baudette post office will receive electronic notification at least 3 days earlier because of the time to handle and mail the paper copies, in addition to the transit time through the postal service.
*The only fee associated with SmartHub is if you choose to pay your bill online or by mobile device with a credit/debit card or electronic check. There is a $3.95 fee for transactions up to $500. We do offer ACH, which is automatic payment of your bill on the due date from your bank account. ACH service is FREE and satisfactorily used by over 30% of our members.
